Luke 12:27- 28

27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?

Have you ever listened to a sermon and something in the message rang so deeply in your spirit that the fullness of the revelation is hard to put into words?

Oftentimes it’s a sole word or even a statement; sometimes it’s not even attached to the main message but a sudden derailment. That was me on Sunday when I heard the words, “It’s not about His capabilities.”

Sometimes we approach God from a place of – “I wonder if He’s able to do this for me?” We may not phrase it that way, but that’s the approach taken. So if it’s not about His capabilities (because as we all should know, He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, far above all we can think or imagine), then what is it about?

Could it be our unbelief?

Could it be our limited thinking?

Could it be that we truly don’t know Him and what He is capable of?

How we act and our approach towards life is a mirror image of our belief systems.

If we truly believe in the capability of God to provide, when needs arise, we will not doubt that our God will show up as Provider.

If we truly believe in the capability of our God to protect and look after us, then why are we crippled in fear by the “what ifs?” of life.

If we truly believe in the capability of God to be a loving Father and to care for His children, then why do we approach life with fear, anxiety, and uncertainty?

The question is not -” Is God capable?”

The question is – “ Do you believe in His capabilities?”

Belief makes the difference.

In James 1, the Word speaks about the double-minded man who is unstable in all his ways; this man is doubtful and is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind – Can you relate to this man?

The spirit of unbelief partners with doubt and hinders the believer from being a partaker in the fullness of who God is and all His capabilities.

Going forward, let us operate from a place of KNOWING. Knowing that God is able to carry out purpose and do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hope, or dreams, according to His power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20 Amp)
